If you can brake, you have a clear advantage
Regardless of whether you are a regular dailydriver on the road, whether you are plowing through the terrain on your cross-moped or whether you are going full throttle on the racetrack with your tuned moped, grippy brakes are always essential for your safety. As the brake shoes are regularly and intensively stressed, they are particularly affected by wear. However, with brake pads from the Italian manufacturer Newfren, wear is not an issue: Newfren brake pads ensure optimum braking power for 10 years and more - which of course depends on your riding habits and style. So there's no question that we offer you brake components from the top Italian manufacturer in our range.
In the fast lane: Newfren brake shoes for mopeds
Newfren brake pads of the latest generation are the absolute gold standard: 19 different (partly organic) pad compounds can be found in the product range. This also includes the famous Pro Race brake pads, whose durability under maximum load has been sustainably improved once again. However, the standard version of the Newfren brake shoes also cut a fine figure in city traffic: their coefficient of friction has been increased by 30% thanks to the knowledge gained from motorsport. This results in a 25% shorter braking distance. The Newfren brake shoes therefore withstand the stop-and-go load effortlessly, even at high speeds. A not insignificant aspect, because the handling of many motorized two-wheelers leaves a lot to be desired at such moments. There is also a special highlight for classic car fans: Newfren brake shoes are still produced in the classic drum design, which was replaced by disc brakes in the early 1980s.
Newfren - Reliable brakes made in Italy
Before taking to the road and the racetrack, the two-wheeler enthusiast and company founder Alessandro Barbero had one thought in mind: How can the wear surface on the brake shoes be maximized while maintaining a consistent design? He replaced the riveting that was common in the 1950s with the then revolutionary adhesive technology. This was followed by patent applications for special gluing machines and water-resistant materials, which made Newfren brake shoes interesting for motorsport. Once the pads had established themselves on the market, Alessandro, together with his son Valter as a partner, concentrated on the manufacture of brake discs. Initially made from robust cast iron, lighter stainless steel was later used. After the death of the company founder, the production of the traditional Turin-based company was relocated to the tranquil suburb of Cirie. To this day, the high-performance brake shoes are manufactured and continuously developed on the 10,000 square meter company premises. This ensures that the usual product quality for which Newfren is known is maintained in the long term.
