Long-life spark plugs and plugs from NGK for every power range
The ignition is often a weak point on mopeds. If the moped won't start, loose contacts or a defective spark plug are among the usual suspects. That's why it's worth opting for quality spark plugs and other components in the assembly, as this significantly reduces the susceptibility to defects. The Japanese manufacturer NGK Spark Plug, one of the world's most renowned suppliers of spark plugs and glow plugs, definitely offers the highest quality. It is not for nothing that numerous moped models have been fitted with NGK products at the factory in the past. We therefore offer spark plugs and plugs in our range, as well as high-quality racing components and plugs especially for your racing ignition.
NGK spark plugs with copper core and rare earths
Reliable spark plugs with copper cores are among NGK's best-selling and most popular products. These spark plug variants are most frequently used in two-stroke engines. They ensure that the operating temperature is reached quickly and provide constant performance. The core of the center electrode dissipates the heat well and thus protects your moped from thermal overload. The nickel-chromium alloy of the NGK plugs is also resistant to corrosion and prevents spark erosion. For particularly high quality requirements, NGK spark plugs with a platinum or iridium core are also available. The center electrode here is very thin, which offers considerable advantages at higher engine outputs. This is because the center electrode draws less current, which reduces the load on the ignition coil and battery. The composition of the air-fuel mixture is improved, resulting in more efficient combustion and lower consumption. The spark plug connectors from the Japanese manufacturer also guarantee the highest quality. The housing of the plugs is made of durable and extremely heat-resistant phenolic resin. Rubber bushes at the ends prevent the ingress of moisture.
The path from empire to global corporation
NGK Spark Plug CO. LTD. was founded in Nagoya, Japan, in November 1936 and initially supplied the domestic automotive market with ignition components. In the 1940s, technical ceramics were added as a second mainstay, followed by the manufacture of cutting tools. From 1975, the manufacturer of ignition components expanded and also gained a foothold in Europe. The first subsidiary in Europe was established in the UK, followed by further production sites in other European countries. Today, the global manufacturer employs over 12,000 people in 41 subsidiaries. The annual turnover from the core divisions of ceramics and moped and automotive technology now amounts to 3.7 billion euros. The fact that NGK is now the world market leader for spark plugs and glow plugs with this turnover is due not only to the reliable quality but also to the fact that the products in the field of ignition components are characterized by moderate pricing and combine proven technologies with innovative modern materials in NGK products.
