Bearings are essential for your gem, as they are for many other mechanical systems. Their main purpose is to reduce friction between moving parts and enable smooth rotation or movement. You will find bearings on the pedal axle, the wheel hub or on the crankshaft of your Sachs moped, but also on the steering head. As solid and high-quality as bearings are manufactured, as they are often subjected to intensive and constant stress, they are classic wear parts. Depending on the load and duration of use, they must therefore be replaced at certain intervals in order to ensure that the bearing components continue to function smoothly. We offer roller bearings, ball bearings and plain bearings from leading manufacturers such as NSK, NTN, SKF and SLF for all assemblies on your Sachs moped.
Depending on which assembly of your Sachs moped you want or need to replace a bearing on, this can be quite a tricky job. The old bearings on your Sachs gem are often very tight and cannot be removed by hand using standard tools. When installing a new bearing, you must also ensure that it is inserted and pressed in absolutely straight, otherwise it could be damaged during installation. If you want to equip your Sachs moped with new bearings, we therefore recommend that you use a special removal or press-fit tool for bearings. You can also find various versions of these tools for replacing bearings on your Sachs moped in our online shop. When selecting a new bearing, also make sure that you use one with the correct internal clearance. Otherwise, the bearing may jam under load and therefore not function optimally.
If you don't want to replace the bearings on your Sachs moped any time soon, it is important to look for high-quality and durable spare parts. With products from manufacturers such as NTN, SKF, SLF and NSK, you are on the safe side in this respect. These companies can look back on a long tradition of ball bearing production. Ball bearings from these manufacturers were already installed in numerous moped models at the factory in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
