A very helpful tool that no well-stocked workshop should be without, especially if you have a lathe or milling machine.
If you are not sure what outside diameter or pitch the thread should have, turn the wheel and find out. Turn the knurled knob to set the desired standard thread and then read off all the important information on the scale next to it. The most important information is probably the diameter for the core hole of an internal thread, which can of course also be read off.
Turning the wheel has never been so useful.
